Background & Goals: Eunice Barbara C. Novio is a member of Women Serving the Rural Community (KANAYON), a human rights organization under GABRIELA (General Assembly Binding Women for Reforms, Integrity, Equity, Leadership, and Action). Novio, independently and through her work with KANAYON, has contributed to mobilization initiatives and human rights campaigns and most recently developed and implemented trainings, workshops, and forums in schools, churches, and other local organizations on women, gender, and the environment. In addition, Novio conceptualized the Gender and Development Program through the Criminology Department of Occidental Mindoro National College and participated in the development of local governmental projects through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO). Upon completion, Novio will use her degree to further her efforts as an activist, writer, researcher, and women’s advocate within the Filipino community.
