Background & Goals:  Letitia Mark has worked in the field of Roma and women's international human rights for over a decade.   She is the President and Founder of the Roma Women's Association "For Our Children," the Director of the Cultural-Education Center for Roma Children, and serves as an independent consultant and board member for a variety of organizations. She has written and published extensively on the subject of Roma women and gender policy, and has presented at a variety of conferences and symposiums on issues affecting the Roma, including the World Conference on Racism in Durban, South Africa. Mark wishes to use her Master's degree to fight against discrimination, reduce prejudice, and work towards securing human rights for the Roma people.

Post-Degree Projects : Mark completed her Master's program in Gender, Differences and Inequalities at Babes-Bolyai University in Romania. Her thesis was entitled, "Roma women’s representations in the Romanian culture: from a Feminist Perspective."

In 2007 Mark participated in the Astra Film Festival, an International Festival of Documentary Film & Visual Anthropology in Sibiu, Romania, and presented "Red Poppies," a documentary about Roma women's lives and the right to family planning. She also presented the film in Strasbourg, as a member and delegate of the International Roma Women Network.   Additionally, she organized a family planning debate at the Roma Women's House in Timisoara.
